On Thursday 6th March the Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech will be transformed into a prestigious fashion show venue as we celebrate the final event of our 25th Anniversary year. Ferry Project will be bringing a touch of glamour and style to the Fens as we host the ‘Ferry Project Fashion Show’.

The aim of the Fashion Show is to help draw attention to the problem of rural homelessness.

The Fashion Show which will be held on the evening of 6th March 2025 at the Queen Mary Centre, sees a collaboration between Ferry Project and the College of West Anglia (CWA). Anyone from the community is now invited to sign up to be sponsored by their friends, family and colleagues to ‘brave the catwalk’ and be a model on the night, with money raised going towards helping the homeless in the Fenland area through the work of the Ferry Project.

In fact, a finalist from the Mrs Botswana 2022 pageant, Mrs Pinkie Matthys has just signed up as one of the models for the event. Now residing in Wisbech, Mrs Matthys is excited to be taking to the catwalk and is looking forward to modelling alongside everyone else from the community who is also brave enough to take part. It should be noted that no previous modelling experience is required, and applications to be a model at the event are open to everyone who is of College age or above, and to any gender. Anyone interested in being a model for the night as well as doing some fundraising can sign up now on JustGiving. The closing date for model sign up is 10th February 2025.

Models will be given access to the Ferry Project’s Donations Hub, situated in the Queen Mary Centre. The Hub has many donated items in it that are suitable for helping someone to set up a home, including lots of clothing. The clothing can be repurposed or ‘jazzed-up’ or just worn as it is. Models will also be offered some confidence training on how to walk down a catwalk from LEADA drama club as well as having makeup and hairstyling provided on the night by the Hair and Beauty department from CWA.

Tickets for the Fashion Show are now available and can be purchased from Eventbrite and cost between £7.50 for a front row seat or just £5 for a normal seat, again with all proceeds going towards helping the homeless. This includes canapes and a drink upon arrival as well as the enjoyment of the fashion show itself.
